Regrouping clicks when a student physically trades ten unit cubes for a rod. This hardwood set gives a group enough pieces to model three-digit numbers, add and subtract with trading, and see why a thousand is ten flats stacked together. The wood has a quiet, satisfying weight and doesn’t skitter off desks the way lightweight plastic pieces can.
