Students can name a triangular prism long before they can picture one. Holding a clear solid, counting its faces and seeing its edges through the acrylic makes the vocabulary stick. The fraction tiles do the same job for parts of a whole: when a student lines up two sixths under one third, equivalence stops being an abstract rule.
What’s included
- 12 clear acrylic geometric solids, about 3 in tall, including a cube, cone, cylinder, sphere, square pyramid and triangular prism
- 2 of the solids have removable bases for filling with rice or water to compare volume
- 4 trays of fraction tiles, 51 pieces each, from one whole down to twelfths
- 204 fraction tiles in total, color-coded by denominator
- Teacher guide with 16 activities
Grade level & classroom use: Geometry in grades 1–6 and fractions in grades 2–5. Four tile trays support four partner pairs or a small intervention group.
Care & warranty: Rinse the acrylic solids in lukewarm water and dry them with a soft cloth to avoid scratches; never use solvent cleaners. A 1-year limited warranty covers cracked seams or warped tiles caused by manufacturing defects.
