A classroom sharpener sees hundreds of pencils a week, and a light-duty desk model wears out before winter break. This one uses a helical steel cutter driven by a motor sized for continuous use, with an automatic stop that ends the cycle when the point is finished instead of grinding the pencil down to a stub.
